Welcome to the 2011- 2012 Brain Works- Make the Jump! Web page.

   We have been extra busy these last three weeks!  We have completed learning our cursive letters and are beginning to use them in spelling.  We have learned how to get along together, and work together to be super teams in Success For All Reading.  We have finished the first unit in EveryDay Math too!  We have read our first Magic Tree House Book (Mummies in the Morning) and done our first Inquiry Learning research project on Egyptian Mummies.  We have started our Altered Books, and art journal pages.  But most of all we have learned about Mindsets, and how to help ourselves get more out of our learning.  Whew... we need to take a breath!

    Up next is a Magic Tree House book about Storms and an Inquiry about Hurricanes.  We are going to observe and write about herb plants. We will start our Drawing on the Right-side of the brain lessons.

   Monday, September 12th we will celebrate Grandparents Day with a Tea.  Can't wait to meet all the special people of our class :-)

   Have a great Fall- it's so cool we won't know what to do with ourselves!
